Description:

Eero Saarinen's futuristic design represents the passage from the quite sober International Style to a more eccentric and extravagant postmodern design era characterized by the most diverse design choices.

Designed as an exercise in clarifying form, Eero Saarinen's Tulip chair sets new standards for modern design. Base is a cast aluminum, rilsan coated finish. Shell is molded fiberglass with a reinforced, plastic bonded finish. Upholstered foam cushion is removable, with zippered cover and Velcro fastening. image source: www.knoll.com

The Tulip chair was designed by Eero Saarinen in 1956 for the Knoll company.
Designed primarily as a chair to match the complementary dining table. The chair has the smooth lines of modernism and is experimental with materials.
The "Pedestral Group" did, however, fulfil his objective of clearing up the "slum of legs" in domestic interiors. Chair upholstered in cotton or mixed-linen. For upholstering in leather please contact our sales team or send us a message. image source: www.livingroom24.co.uk
